How to get to Praia da Conceição

Praia da Conceição is a few minutes from Vila dos Remédios. You go down a staircase or walk over from Praia do Meio.

If you're staying in the Vila, you can do it all on foot. Watch out for the strong sun and the slopes along the way.

Why it's the go-to beach for families

It's one of the few beaches with real facilities: bars, chairs and snacks with your feet in the sand at Duda Rei. The shade is at the bars.

The sea is calm most of the year and there's surfing in summer. With small children, avoid swell days.

That's why it works well on the first day or as a plan B when your flight is delayed and only the late afternoon is left.

Surfing at Conceição

During swell season, from November to March, Conceição turns into a beach break close to the Vila, with waves generally smaller than at Cacimba and Boldró. It usually works best on a higher tide.

It is the most often recommended option for smaller days and for surfers still progressing, ideally with an instructor. Even so, there are currents: watch the sea before paddling out. See the other breaks in the Noronha surf guide.

Sunset with Morro do Pico

The sun sets beside Morro do Pico, and the bars often have live music. It's the easiest sunset and the best one with kids, with a short trip back to the pousada.

A band of clouds often hides the sun on the horizon. Stay another 10 to 15 minutes: the color usually gets better afterwards.

Combine it with the neighboring beaches

Along the sand you can link up with Praia do Meio and Praia do Cachorro, best at low tide. A walking route can end the afternoon here.
