Ilha Tour

The classic tour for your first full day: it covers viewpoints, beaches with stops for a swim (Sancho or Cacimba, Sueste, Leão), historic sites and ends with the sunset at the Forte do Boldró. It works as a reconnaissance so you can decide where to return on the other days.

  • Shared: in an open 4x4, with a fixed route, from 8am to 6pm. From R$ 250 to R$ 370 per person.
  • Private: just for your group, with a route and schedule you set, from R$ 1.400 per group. It is the best format with a baby or small child.

All about the Ilha Tour

Includes transfer, guide and swimming stops. Does not include lunch, snorkel gear or fees. Bring the park ticket QR code, water and UV-protective clothing. Book 7 to 30 days ahead.

Morning, afternoon or full day

Boat and speedboat trip

Departs from Porto de Santo Antônio along the Mar de Dentro to Ponta da Sapata: secondary islands, Cachorro, Meio, Conceição, Boldró, Cacimba, Baía dos Porcos and Baía dos Golfinhos, almost always with dolphins escorting the boat. Most anchor at Sancho for snorkeling.

  • Shared boat: about 4 hours, up to ~30 people, fixed route with islands, the Golfinhos and a ~40-minute stop at Sancho. From R$ 300 to R$ 390 per person.
  • Sunset at sea: about 3h30, departing around 3pm, with a stop for planasub and snorkeling and sunset on the water. From R$ 300 to R$ 420 per person.
  • Private speedboat: 4 hours, from R$ 2.400 to R$ 2.900 per boat, just for your group, with a toilet, shade and a flexible route. Worth it from 5 or 6 people or with a baby; for a couple, the shared boat delivers 80% of the experience. The speedboat's life vest is for safety and doesn't work for floating: bring or rent your own. Drinks and snorkel gear are usually on you. Operators and contacts in the business directory.

Diving

Visibility that can reach 30 to 50 meters in the best season (September to November), water between 26 and 28 °C and more than 20 dive sites. It is considered the best diving destination in Brazil.

  • Boat discovery dive (beginners, from age 10): no course, down to ~12 m and about 30 minutes of bottom time, with an instructor by your side. From R$ 990 to R$ 1.200 per person. A cheaper version departs from the beach, at the Porto shipwreck.
  • Scuba diving (certified divers): about R$ 990 with two tanks, at sites such as Cabeço das Cordas, Pedras Secas and Laje Dois Irmãos. The corvette Ipiranga is for technical diving only.
  • Planasub: you are towed by the boat holding onto a board, with mask and snorkel, no tank. A Noronha invention, included in some boat trips.
  • Snorkeling: Sancho, Sueste, Porto (shipwrecks) and Atalaia. Rent a mask and fins at the Porto or bring your own.

Don't fly until 12 hours after a day of diving, or 18 hours after several days: schedule your dive well before your return day. Established operators: Águas Claras, Atlantis Divers and Noronha Divers. Book 30 to 60 days ahead.

Rules on the trails

Closed shoes or sturdy sandals, at least 1 liter of water per person, a hat that stays on (it is very windy) and a start time before 9am or after 3pm. Don't leave the marked trail, don't camp, don't bring pets, take your trash back with you and don't collect anything. Check the tide table before the coastal trails (Atalaia, Abreus, Morro São José, Capim-Açu): high tide blocks sections and rescue is difficult.
