Morro Dois Irmãos
Morro Dois Irmãos is the postcard image of Fernando de Noronha, in the Mar de Dentro. You can see it from viewpoints, beaches and the sea, each spot with a different light.
Where to see Morro Dois Irmãos
Morro Dois Irmãos appears from several spots in the Mar de Dentro. Each one shows the hills from a different angle.
- Mirante Dois Irmãos: a boardwalk of about 300 m from the Sancho viewpoint, with an aerial view.
- Baía dos Porcos: natural pools with a head-on view, only at low tide.
- Cacimba do Padre: a long stretch of sand with the hills in the background.
- Forte do Boldró: sunset with Dois Irmãos on the horizon.
Sancho and Dois Irmãos viewpoints
The viewpoints are inside the National Park and require a ticket, with no booking. The wooden boardwalk has stretches of stairs and also connects to the Mirante dos Golfinhos.
Go early, when the light hits the bay. It is the best spot for aerial photos of Sancho and the hills. See neighboring Baía do Sancho.
Sunset with Dois Irmãos
For many people, the most beautiful sunset on the island is the one at Forte do Boldró, with Dois Irmãos in the background. It is free; arrive 40 minutes early.
Often a band of clouds hides the sun before it reaches the sea. The best color usually comes 10 to 15 minutes after it disappears.
The Ilha Tour ends right there. See the details in Forte do Boldró.
By sea and with children
The boat trip through the Mar de Dentro follows the coast and passes in front of the hills. For certified divers, Laje Dois Irmãos is one of the dive sites.
With children, the boardwalk viewpoints and the sunset at Boldró are the easiest options. Baía dos Porcos has rocks and is better for older children, with proper footwear.
